ASERD-GHANA aims at working through the rural communities within Ghana and other less developed countries in Africa and beyond.

WHO WE ARE

Aid for Socio-Economic and Rural Development (ASERD-GHANA) is an organization that has an excellent understanding of the local ecosystem of the specific challenges that Communities and Women in Sub-Saharan Africa faces. ASERD-GHANA seeks to realize its mandate through programmes and projects implemented in the areas of Child Development, Health, Women Empowerment, Promotion of Human Right and Justice, Promotion of Peace Building and Conflict management in Ghana, Youth and Good governance, Biodiversity conservation and natural resource management, Agriculture, Ecosystem & Tourism, food security and livelihoods development as well as contributing to other sectors/disciplines of sustainable human development in Ghana. ASERD-GHANA was created in 2015 as a Youth Lead Organization, and legally registered in 2018 as a Non-Governmental Organization at the Registrar General’s Department of Ghana, with Registration Number CG009982018. ASERD-GHANA is also Registered under the Non-Profit Organization Secretariat, Formally the Social Welfare Department of the Republic of Ghana under the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection with License No. NPOS/NEN8/LN0324/22

Vision

ASERD-GHANA vision is that of a community, where the Rural Poor, the Marginalized and Rural Women have a good standard of living and contribute Pro-actively to Equitable and Sustainable Community Development.

Mission

ASERD-GHANA mission is to strengthen the capacities of rural communities through socio-economic, Peaceful living and livelihood empowerment activities to improve good and sustainable standard of living in Ghana.

ASERD-GHANA continues to uphold its core values of social equality, non-partisanship, honesty, transparency and accountability, team work and grassroots involvement in achieving its mandates as a Development oriented organization in Ghana and West Africa.

Our main objective is to promote sustainable and equitable development of the deprived, poor and vulnerable societies, communities and individuals to reflect social justice in our operational areas

Operational Regions & Districts

The organization currently operates in four out of the five Northern Ghana regions namely North East Region (Bunkpurugu-Nakpanduri, Yunyoo-Nansuan, East Mamprusi, West Mamprusi and Cheriponi Districts, respectively), Upper East Region (Garu and Tempane districts, respectively), Northern (Savelegu, Nantong and Tamale Metro) and the Savannah region (West Gonja Municipal) with plans in advance to scale up to the other parts of Ghana.

Our Governance Structure

The structure of the organization is well interlinked and coordinated to ensure efficiency in operations. ASERD-GHANA is governed by a Nine Member Board of Directors consisting of persons with development and professional skills who provide policy guidance and direction for project execution. The Board of Directors serves as the oversight advisory body ASERD-GHANA’s daily operations is run by the Executive Director, who is additionally responsible for managing ASERD-GHANA’s relationships with its funding agencies, overseeing execution of ASERD-GHANA’s projects, managing the human and financial resources of the organization. The Executive Director coordinates the execution of development activities of all projects and provides general support for effective project implementation for beneficiaries and other stakeholders. The organization is also coordinated by certain policy guidelines in its Constitution and the various manuals in the organization to govern the operations of management
